Melbourne Harp Music

Spring Newsletter

Spring is sprung, the grass is ris..

And isn't it nice to feel some warmth in the sun!

It's been a busy time once again with two successful performances of The Queen's Music by voxArpa, including a trip to the gorgeous Convent Gallery in Daylesford.

Sarah and I are still blown away by the reception of our concert at Montsalvat (a full house and a standing ovation no less!!). The performance was recorded by 3MBS and should be going to air sometime soon.

Many thanks to those who attended, and a big hello to all those lovely people who have since joined our mailing list.

CD news

I'm still getting my head around this but my solo CD 'Automne' was chosen as CD of the week on ABC FM's Classic Drive programme. It was amazing to hear it being played on air!

But as my husband said, as he gazed wistfully at the boxes of the things that litter our house "Wouldn't it be nice if someone bought some of them!!"

So if you're looking for a gift for someone, especially in the lead up to Christmas, please make my husband happy by purchasing a copy!

voxArpa presents 'Songs from Distant Times'

An afternoon of hauntingly beautiful music from distant times.

Mezzo-soprano Sarah Cole and harpist Megan Reeve present a programme of the ethereal and folkloric with music by Rubbra, Ravel, Schubert, Bach and Australian composer Helen Cartridge.

The programme includes a fascinating range of lyricists: Yeats, John Fletcher, 8th century Japanese nature poet Yamabe-no-Akahito and the 5th century St. Ita all captured in evocative and memorable music.
