Tiger Pride and Progress Celebration Days
On April 19th and May 3rd, we will have Tiger Pride and Progress Celebration Days. On these days during Tiger Pride, we will celebrate students who have made progress and demonstrated growth.
Theme days
On these days, we are asking students and staff to dress in theme as part of the celebration. This will also be a competition to see which Tiger Pride and Progress group has the most participation. Please share with your Tiger Pride group and encourage their participation.
The students of the Tiger Pride and Progress group with the most participation will win a free outside day in May during theirTiger Time. This will be supervised by the ALTs. In addition, the progress coach and IXL coach of the most spirited Tiger Pride and Progress group will have their 30 minute Tiger Time or a morning duty covered as they receive the gift of time!
April 19th: Dress in your favorite decade
May 3rd: Wear your favorite tropical/Hawaiian gear
If you have any questions, please see Lea Brinkley, Gia Jones, Courtney Ieva, or Dawn Hindberg
What's Your Number?
AMS launched the Tiger Pride (in Progress) program on Monday. Students should be done with their diagnostic test in IXL Reading or IXL Math to indicate their Reading or Math grade-level score.
Ask your child, "What's your number (in IXL Reading or Math)?" Ask them what that number means? [Example: in the image below, an overall score of 530 means the child is at a "5th grade, 3rd month" OR "5th grade, 30% towards 6th-grade" level. Then, talk to your child about the recommended skills they will work on to grow their overall ability & score.
Every day in Tiger Pride (M/W/F) students and progress coaches (teacher teams) will focus on recommended skills to grow each student in specific, deficit skills.
By asking your child weekly "What's your number?" you can positively reinforce the progress & growth they are making.
