Savannah Shout Out!

The Official Newsletter of Savannah Elementary

Building. Learning. Growing.

Welcome Back, Savannah Nation!

Wow! Here we are about to embark on an exceptionally different school year but we are expecting great things to happen. One thing is for sure, Savannah teachers & staff are committed to our mission, "Preparing for the future, today!" We have had weeks to prepare for your student's arrival, and whether you are a F2F or a Connected Learning student, you are a Savannah Gator. Our utmost priority is the safety of your student. We will work together to provide a learning environment for your child that is creative and innovative, while maintaining safety protocols from the school district and state.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our Parent Toolbox. This is a hub for all parent and family information pertaining to your child's learning experience. Also, please mark the dates to remember for August and September. We will continue to publish a Savannah Shout Out each month for important information.

We are counting down the days until the first day of school. We look forward to partnering with you in your child's education, and truly making this a year to remember. We feel a huge responsibility for your child's success and will make decisions each day in the best interest of your kids.

Thank you for trusting us with your most precious gift.

Arrival & Dismissal

Our doors will open at 7:30 AM for arrival. You can drop your student in the front drive or the back drive. Students will enter through their designated arrival door according to the posted signs. All students are expected to enter the building with a mask on. Students can grab a 'breakfast to go' bag and take with them to their classroom to eat. Students may not congregate outside on the steps before doors open.

Dismissal will be staggered starting at 3:00 PM and 3:05 PM. K-2nd grade will pick up in the front circle drive and 3rd-5th grade will pick up in the back circle drive. Younger students (K-2nd grade) with older siblings (3rd-5th grade), will meet their older sibling in the cafeteria and dismiss out the back circle drive. Every family will receive a car tag number. Car tags will be sent home on the first day of school. It is important that you place this in your car for pick-up, otherwise you will have to show ID in the front office to get your child.

Lunch & 30-Minute Extended Brain Break

Students will eat with their class for lunch. A mask is not required during lunch time. Students can bring or purchase their lunch, like normal. Students will participate in a 30-minute extended brain break outside each day with their class. We will not mix classes during this extended brain break and will maintain social distancing.

Car Tags

Teachers will inform you of your child's car tag number. Car tags will be sent home on the first day of school. Please keep the car tag hanging on your rear view mirror at pick up.
