Wednesday's Words
March 17, 2021
Dear Parents,
This Friday we will be publishing student report cards electronically through the parent Ipass portal. Parents will receive an email from iparent@norfolk.k12.ma.us once report cards have been posted and are available for review. If you need help accessing your child’s report card, visit our district website at www.norfolk.k12.ma.us to view a brief tutorial.
Teachers are looking forward to meeting with parents/guardians during conferences next week. Parent/Teacher Conferences provide an opportunity to collaborate and share information about children’s academic and social development. As parents, you know your children better than anyone and have the opportunity to observe their experiences across a variety of settings. Due to the unique structure of this year, parents/guardians also have information to share regarding how students are responding to remote instruction and learning at home. In contrast, teachers have rich information to share about your child’s progress towards meeting grade level curriculum standards. They also have the opportunity to observe your child as they interact with peers in the classroom and participate in partner and group projects. Through open communication and dialog, parents and teachers can partner to set goals and support children’s success as they head into the final months of the school year!
The district continues to finalize plans for a full return to in person learning. Parents will be receiving information during the last week of March on changes to bus stops or routes. Students in grades 1-6 will return to school full-time on Monday, April 5th. We will be presenting the full plan for Phase III to the Norfolk School Committee next Wednesday, March 24th. Information about how to access or view this meeting is included below.
Have a great week,
Ingrid Allardi
Public access to the School Committee meeting will be done live through NCTV. The link to watch on YouTube is https://youtu.be/ws_x81cJv1c
