From the Principal's Desk...
Ah, how goodness and kindness pursue me
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I want to thank you for your continuing support and understanding during this incredibly challenging time. I recognize that as things continue to change we are always in a state of transition. There are many days when It seems that what I thought was the reality at 7:00 a.m. is radically different by 7:30 a.m., and it may change again before 8:00 a.m.
This week has been one of those weeks. I was certain last week that we were on track and doing very well in preparing for our in person Wednesdays. Early on Sunday, things began to change and to change quickly. Monday was the day when every half hour things were in transition. Please know that every decision is made with the fullest intention to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
Your flexibility as things continue to change is critically important in making our school community work. Your support and patience enable our faculty and staff to provide quality Catholic education no matter in what form it occurs. We will continue to keep you informed with the most current information we have.
I encourage everyone to support our St. John’s School Spectacular this weekend. There are many wonderful baskets and auction items that you can bid on and support our school from your own home. You will be able to sign in and view the live auction as well. Thank you for your support and contributions.
In today’s Responsorial Psalm, we hear the words of the most familiar of psalms. We read Psalm 23, “Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life.” This is the translation from the New American Bible which we hear at Mass. This same psalm in the Jerusalem Bible reads, “Ah, how goodness and kindness pursue me every day of my life.”
As we work together to do what is best for your daughters and sons, may we recognize the importance of what we say and do. It is certainly wonderful for God’s goodness and kindness to follow us, but how much more significant is it for us to believe this. Ah, how goodness and kindness pursue me. May we rejoice that our God, even in these challenging times, pursues each of us every day of our life.
Peace,
Dan Minelli

#PrayAMinute Movement
Fr. Kyle Schnppel shared how we can connect with Jesus while reading the Word of God.
When you read Scripture, do you feel Jesus truly speaking to your heart?
There’s a big difference between reading scripture with your head and feeling Jesus alive and present in your heart by encountering Him in scripture.
Click here to sign up for the #prayaminute movement if you would like to receive reflections like this every Monday.
