Yearbook Information
It’s Yearbook Time! There are many ways that you can help or be part of the yearbook this year. There are two opportunities below: Join the yearbook staff OR submit your photos!
1. We are looking for enthusiastic and creative students to join the yearbook staff. Staff members will be in charge of developing yearbook content, as well as creating and designing the yearbook. If you are interested in graphic design, photography, scrapbooking, or you just like creating this might be the space for you. Yearbook application submission is online through the following link: Yearbook Interest Form 2022 (office.com) All applications are due by January 31, 2022. We will not accept any late applications. Please know that as a member of the yearbook staff, you will have to partake in the weekly Covid-19 screenings per the Charles County Board of Education in order to stay afterschool. We will notify all yearbook members who are accepted a week prior to our first meeting so that they will have time to sign up if they are not already signed up for the screenings.
2. We are looking for photos of the following: SNOW Days!, vacations and pets. All photos should be during the 2021-2022 school year and submitted through the following website: www.hjeShare.com. When prompted, our school code is 14954 and our password is somers. You can submit as many photos as you would like. If you have another photo that you think would be great in the yearbook, send it to us!
Lastly, if you would like to purchase a yearbook, you can do so by going to https://www.yearbookordercenter.com/index.cfm/job/14954.From there, you can order your 2021-2022 Yearbook. Yearbooks this year are $30.00. Adding your name imprint is an additional $5.00. The price of books will go up after April 1, 2022.
If you have any questions about joining yearbook, submitting photos, or purchasing a yearbook, please email either Ms. Villela or Ms. Strobel.

January 14-28
Somers Reads!
New titles have been coming into the library - both digital and physical. Destiny has ribbons that showcase the newest arrivals, so be sure to look at what is new. You may discover your next favorite book! The newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid has arrived, as well as the most recent title in the Mysterious Benedict Society series. And look for 3 new titles in Erin Hunter’s Warriors series.
And don’t forget to add those reading minutes into your Beanstack account. Our Winter Reading challenge continues through the end of January. So snuggle up with a warm blanket and a good book and get those minutes logged!
Laptop Reminder:
Please remind your students to keep their laptops clean. A gentle wiping down with a damp microfiber cloth will clean the keyboard and outside. Please do not use anything on the screen. Also have your student clean out their laptop bag and wipe out the inside to clear out those dust bunnies and stray crumbs.
