Agricultural Products Grown
Main foods that are grown in Honduras and used in most popular food dishes are red beans, corn, and rice. Tortillas are also made from ingridients grown from the agriculture.
Food Customs and Beliefs
Coffee, with or without milk, is traditional and usually is served with the main meal of the day. It is also drunk by some families in the morning and in the afternoon, when it is accompanied by sweet bread. Also Hondurans generally consider people to be more important than schedules, being late for appointments or social events is a way of life.
Holiday Celebrations
During Christmas, large family parties are organized at which common traditional foods such as "Nacatamales" (corn dough stuffed with pork & vegtables) and "Torrejas" (a dessert similar to french toast) are served.
