Sometimes BYOT can be a struggle in class since we aren't familiar with all the different devices that students bring to school. Do you ever wish there were some common shortcuts that could be used by everyone with their devices? The linked TED video below gives some great tips that can help you and your students when using BYOT devices in class!
Digital Citizenship Week
Digital citizenship week is October 21st-25th. Students today are continuously online, texting, chating, updating profiles, and more. Digital citizenship week is the opportunity to engage parents, students, and teachers in responsible online learning and safety. Linked below are posters that can be shared with students and families.
PISD has given access to a new web portal that can be access by students and staff in the district. The web portal provides a simple, central location for district software applications, as well as access to personal network folders anytime, anywhere. The web portal is linked above.
In addition, students are now required to sign-in to district computers through the use of unique user names and passwords. These unique logins will result in the end of generic logins, such as dhsstudent. The generic logins are scheduled to be shut down at the end of the month, requiring all students to use their unique user names and passwords.
