Important Dates, Information and Expectations:



  • Your teacher will provide you with all of the important dates through out your course. Please note that eLearning Final Exams will take place at your home school on the first day of Final Exams on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018. From 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM (After your period one final exam) In case of inclement weather/school closure on the exam day, the alternative exam day will be utilized to complete Period One exams and eLearning Exams.
  • To be removed from a course, you must complete your school's "Request for Course Change form", have it signed by a parent/guardian and submit it to your guidance department office.Guidance counsellors will contact the student if necessary and if the request cannot be accommodated. Please check with your home school's specific dates for and deadlines for making changes to schedules as they very from school to school.
  • Please login to your orientation course and begin going through the content by Midnight on Friday, September 15th, 2017. If you have questions in the orientation course, please contact Ms. MacDougall (the District eLearning Contact Teacher). You may contact her through the course 'class list' she is listed as the teacher.
  • Please login to you eLearning course and connect with your teacher on Monday, September the 14th, 2017
  • You are expected to login to your course every school day, if for some reason you are unable to do so, please communicate with your eLearning teacher using the Brightspace by D2L email system.
  • It will be very important to manage your time effectively and to communicate with your teacher if you have any questions or need clarification about any of the course content or assignments. Please see the section below called "Tips for Being a Great eLearning Student" to review some great strategies.
  • Just like your face-to-face courses, students are expected to follow the Catholic Graduate Expectations through their interactions with their classmates and teacher. To review these expectations please see the "Catholic Graduate Expectations" section below.

How to Login to Brightspace by D2L

If you are accessing D2L from home from a school computer or tablet please

access through the following http://students.dpcdsb.org/

or click here for a visual guide.


If you are accessing D2L from home,or from a personal devise, go to the website https://dpcdsb.elearningontario.ca


Use your network credentials (the username and password that you use to login to your school computers) to login to D2L.

***Please note that the login method has changed since August 22nd, 2017.

This will work if you have previously registered for the password reset self-registration tool. If you have not, you will need to have a teacher at school use their student management tool to reset your network password in person.

If you have difficulties logging in to the computer network, please use the password reset tool. If you haven't previously signed up for the reset tool, please connect with one of your course teachers at your home school to have your network password reset using the student management tool.
