Tdap Information for upcoming 6th graders:

On May 11, your 5th grade student received the letter shown below. If you prefer your child not participate in one or both of the lessons described, please notify his/her teacher in writing prior to the date of the presentation(s).

4th Grade Summer Reading

Upcoming 4th graders will be reading The Chocolate Touch by Patrick S. Catling. It will be sold at the RES and MTCE Awards day. It can be purchased at RIS library also. It will be sold over the summer at the RIS main office. The cost is $5.

5th grade summer reading

Upcoming 5th graders must obtain their o...wn copies of their choice books for the project. Please check with one of our local public libraries if you do not wish to purchase a book.

6th Grade Summer Reading

Upcoming 6th graders will read Lawn Boy by Gary Paulsen. It will be sold at the 5th grade Awards Day and over the summer in the office. The AP students will need to read Lawn Boy and I Survived the Chicago Fire. I Survived will be on sale for $5 also.

Students will be expected to complete an assignment for Summer reading. The assignment will accompany books sold here at school.


Hat Day

The HOPE Summer Leadership Academy is doing a fundraiser next week. Monday- Friday May 11-15 students will be able to bring in $1 and this donation will allow them the privilege of wearing a hat in school on Monday, May 18.

Yearbooks are on sale for $35 from now until they are all gone. First come, first serve. Yearbooks should be here by May 20th.

My classes are engaging in BYOT from now until the end of the school year. We are doing interactive lessons on Solar and Renewable Energy using the new LMS, Canvas. Students are learning how Canvas can be used as a learning tool in the classroom to engage and progress monitor their learning.

Awards Day

Our Awards Day ceremonies are planned as follows:

4th Grade --- Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 12:00

5th Grade --- Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 12:00

6th Grade --- Thursday, May 21, 2015 8:30 a.m.

May 21 - Last student day

Report cards will go home after 11 a.m.

Riverton Intermediate School will no longer offer summer care. A flyer will be sent home with details.
