Mrs. Hunt's Classroom News

Blythe Elementary 5th grade

What are we learning?

Literacy- We are comparing and contrasting our historical fiction read alouds, book club books, and novels. We are looking at many different settings, , themes, and ideas that come across multiple time periods. We will use the compare and contrast technique in our writing as we compare and contrast different time periods and events through writing.

Math- We have been working on our Volume unit. It is a very fun unit and has given us a little bit of a break from fractions. Our next unit will be Decimals and we will start that next Monday. Each week we will also be incorporating a day for review and test prep. Our day will be Friday. We will work on Fraction review.

Science- We will be finished with our Weather Unit by the end of this week. We will take our unit assessment on Friday. Please make sure your student has finished their science study guide and continues to review the information that is on it. Science is very heavy with vocabulary and students will be required to know this information for our science EOG.

Our next Science Unit will focus on Forces and Motion.

If you have pictures that you would also like to share you can send them to me. I would love to showcase some of the things going on outside of school.
