U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur and State Rep. Steve Arndt attend October Board Meeting
At the October 23rd B-C-S Board Meeting, U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur talked with B-C-S teachers prior to the meeting. OHMS Student Council and those in attendance during the board meeting also had the opportunity to talk with U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur.
State Rep. Steve Arndt was also in attendance and provided comments after receiving thanks from B-C-S Board for the B-C-S Bridge Legislation he led.

Halloween in the Halls a Spooky Good Time!
Halloween in the Halls was a success! Last Thursday, Oak Harbor High School hosted its second annual “Halloween in the Halls” celebration organized by their student council. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and made this event possible! As always, we could not do this without our amazing community and your support! Thank you all so much for helping us with another successful Halloween in the Halls!

Our #MakeADifferenceMonday is a little different this week, we would like to feature our Oak Harbor Rockets Football team for all their hard work and dedication this season!
Congratulations to the Oak Harbor Rocket Football 2018 Sandusky Bay Conference Champs. We are SO proud of Coach May and our hard working Team!
The Oak Harbor Rockets will take on Marion Pleasant Saturday night, November 3, at home in Rocket Stadium in the First Round of the OHSAA Div. V Region 18 football playoffs. Tickets will go on sale starting Tuesday in the HS main office! The game will begin at 7 P.M.

Mandatory WINTER OHSAA Parent Meeting Scheduled
The Oak Harbor winter OHSAA parent meeting will be held on Monday, November 12 at 7:00 PM in the HS Cafeteria. If you attended the fall meeting you will only need to attend the sport specific portion of the meeting with the coaches beginning around 7:30.

Toledo Symphony Side by Side Concert will be held at OHHS!

Special guests Woodmore Symphonic Chorale and Port Clinton Choir featuring OHHS Alum Chelsea Smith, soprano.

Coffee Connections Announced for 2018
District citizens are invited to join B-C-S Superintendent Guy Parmigian and Treasurer Cajon Keeton to attend a district coffee. Coffees provide an informal opportunity to introduce yourself, chat, ask questions, and learn more about the B-C-S school system and where we are heading. All district citizens are invited to attend. There are no reservations needed, and there is no cost to attend.

The voting registration deadline for the November 6th general election is Tuesday, October 9.

RC Waters K-2 Learn about Fire Safety!
The Portage Fire Department came to present to the K-2 students at RCW about fire safety. Students were able to hear a smoke detector, see a firefighter in full gear, and check out the fire engines! Thank you, Portage Fire Dept.
THIS WEEK AT RC WATERS!
Mrs. Lutz’s kindergarten students each chose their favorite stories and made a book report of the character in their favorite book by decorating a pumpkin. They all turned out Amazing!
Mrs. Spangler’s and Mrs. Orians’ classes wrote essays on how they would move a giant pumpkin. There were some interesting ideas!
Mrs. Hathaway and Mrs. Koren had students give directions for carving a pumpkin while Mrs. Hathaway carved. Students are preparing for a writing assignment in which students will write a “how to” essay..
Pumpkin Party!
Mrs. Byington’s class won the Boxtop collection contest. They earned a pumpkin party, sponsored by TIE. It was fun to watch their creativity!
“Lunch with the Principal”
Mrs. Bryant enjoyed lunch with Carson this past week. He bought a “Lunch with the Principal” coupon from the Dojo cart. He was so excited but we know Mrs. Bryant was the lucky one!

OHHS Thespians to Perform Three One-Act Comedies
Join the Thespians for a night of warm fall laughter. Three for the Show presents three one-act comedies, After Hours, Check Please, and Androcles and the Lion, to welcome new talent and see some familiar faces to the OHHS stage. Shows are Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 1-3 at 7:30. Tickets, available at the door, are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for students and seniors. Hope you can join us!
Friday Morning Coffee Cart for Staff off to a Great Start!
The coffee cart is up and running at OHHS. A big shoutout to Mrs. Mills, her staff, and especially her students, for all of their hard work. Friday mornings just got a whole lot better!
OHHS Music Performance Class is looking for Instrument donations!
Do you have an old guitar or bass guitar laying around? Have your days of shredding come to an end? If so, the Oak Harbor HS Music Performance class could be that instrument's new home! The class is looking for donations of gently used guitars, basses, and related equipment such as amps and cables. If you have anything you think may be useful to a class that focuses on rock/pop/modern music, please send an email to jhead@bcssd.com or bring your instrument by the high school!

- The Lady Rocket Volleyball Team travels to Lexington on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 pm to take on Parma Heights Holly Name in the OHSAA Div ll Regionals. This only the second time in Oak Harbor history that the Rockets have made it to Regionals. Come out and support the Lady Rocket
- The Oak Harbor Rockets will take on Marion Pleasant Saturday Night November 3 at home in Rockets Stadium in the First Round of the OHSAA Div. V Region 18 football playoffs. Tickets will go on sale starting Tuesday in the HS main office.

- Rockets win game 3 25-12. Rockets play on Thursday at Findlay HS at 6:00 for the district championship
A heck of a battle by our Lady Rockets soccer team but they fall short to Central Catholic. 1-0. Great season ladies!
