Cook Properly To Keep Food Safe
Burning Bacteria Away
Raw Foods Are Ridden With Harmful Bacteria:
Cooking raw meats, poultry, seafood, and eggs to a proper temperature is the best way to get rid of harmful bacteria in your food.
Directions:
To avoid damaging bacteria, it is recommended to:
- Use a thermometer to check the temperature of food (the only way to determine if cooked foods are safe to eat).
- Do not taste uncooked or partially cooked dishes.
- Reheat foods thoroughly to 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Thaw food out before you cook it (but don't let it thaw on a counter, harmful foodborne pathogens multiply rapidly when foods are in the danger zone between 40 degrees Fahrenheit and 140 degrees Fahrenheit).
