Universal Screener Winter Testing
As mentioned in a communication earlier this year, the district has begun the implementation of MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support). A process through which we support students based on research-based assessments and practices as well as individual student need. Along with this process, we are using the Star Assessment by Renaissance for Reading and Math. This assessment was taken in the fall by all students. Our Winter testing window is scheduled for late January to early February. This second assessment will allow us to assess the health of our curriculum as well as help us to celebrate student growth and support students with specific skill interventions and enrichments. These assessments will be completed electronically in your child’s classroom and only take one class period to complete. The information we have gleaned from the MTSS process has been beneficial in identifying learning needs early and providing intervention quickly, allowing us to support students as they achieve academic success and feel pride in their work.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Titus Universal Screener Testing Window : January 31st to February 4th

January Sparks Article
In a recent article by psychologist Louis Tay, he states, “Don’t push your children toward skills just because they pay well. Financial success is only one dimension of a fulfilling life.” Teaching our children to understand and value money can be a challenge in our world especially when we consider what is “needed” and what is “wanted”. As part of our Career Education Program through the District’s Success Plan (Smart Futures and Naviance), we provide lessons and resources on various topics including “How Money is Used” in the primary grades, to budgeting, financial literacy and entrepreneurship in the secondary grades. These are important lessons to help your daughter or son see a path to their future goals and a means to attain those goals. Ask your student to log onto these platforms and show you what they are learning.

Volunteers
If your clearances are current, upload them into the App Garden - Volunteer Tracker. If your clearances have expired, or you need to begin the clearance process, click on the Required Documents for the directions. For more information, consult the Human Resources Volunteer Required Paperwork webpage or reach out to Mrs. Fortunato in the main office.
Car Line PM Dismissal
We are asking for your assistance by not arriving for carline prior to 3pm. Our back gate will not open until this time so that our students and teachers may continue to utilize the back lot in the afternoon. Due to the size of our parking lot when cars line up early, it makes it difficult for others to enter and exit the parking lot.
Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation!
Early Dismissal Reminders
In addition, if you are planning to pick your child up prior to the end of the school day, the last time we will be able to accommodate early dismissal from the main office will be at 3pm, in order for everyone to prepare for dismissal. Anyone wishing to pick up their child after 3pm, should utilize the car line for dismissal.
The main office thanks you for your cooperation.

Box Tops
Did you know that you can earn money for Titus just by buying groceries?
That’s right! You can help support the Titus Home and School Association by utilizing the Box Tops for Education program in any (or all) of the following ways!
1) Download the Box Tops for Education App and scan your receipt every time you shop in store.
2) Create an account at www.boxtops4education.com and forward your digital receipts (from online grocery shopping) to receipts@boxtops4education.com for credit.
3) Collect the older “clip” version of Box Tops (the ones you cut out that have an expiration date) and send them to school in a baggie labeled with your child’s teacher’s name. There is a collection box in the main office.
4) Don’t want to bother with the app or email? Send in your grocery receipts to school and we’ll take care of the scanning. Label the receipt with your child’s teacher’s name and have your child place it in the Box Tops collection bin in the main office. (All receipts must be received within 7 days of purchase to allow time for scanning before they expire.)
Every little bit helps! If you have any questions about the Box Tops program or need help with the app, contact Stephanie Wolff at srwolff2@verizon.net.
