Students and project transportation will be provided by PISD. Parental transportation must be pre arranged with Mr. Molina



February 21, Thursday


2 pm Leave barn for San Antonio


  • Students will check in with the welding sub and leave for the barn.



8:00 pm Eat Dinner

10:30 pm Arrive at hotel



February 22, Friday


9:00 am Arrive at show

12:00 pm Move projects into place

12:30-1:30 pm Lunch

1:30-4:00 pm Free time

5:00 pm Eat dinner

8:00 pm Back at hotel

10:00 pm Lights out



February 23, Saturday


7:45 am Arrive at show

8:00 am Judging begins

12:00 pm-1:00 pm Lunch break

1:00 pm Judging continues

5:00 pm Leave for hotel

6:00 pm Leave for dinner

8:30 pm Arrive hotel

10:00 pm Lights out



February 24, Sunday


8:45 am Arrive at show

9:00 am Awards

11:00 am Release projects

12:00 pm Eat lunch

1:00 pm Leave for home


6:00 pm Arrive at barn


Students are responsible to pay for meals, souvenirs, and any other entertainment so remember to bring money.


Students vehicles can be left at barn while gone on the trip (6600 Alma)


During the entire trip students are expected to act in accordance with the Plano FFA Personal Conduct Agreement as well as the Plano ISD Code of Conduct. Failure to do so will result in parents being contacted to take students back from San Antonio immediately.

What Happens During the Show

Students will wear nice shop appropriate clothing during the show. (no holes in jeans)


Students will enter a project and compete against similar projects as their own

Projects will be judged on craftsmanship and showmanship


Showmanship- During the Students will discuss with the judge the building process of their project.

Students will also turn in a book with plans and bill of materials (will be provided)

Prizes are awarded for how well you show your project! So come ready to talk to people


Craftsmanship- Projects are judged on


Workmanship: 50 points

Sound structural design and balance: 30 points

Practical utility and material suited for project: 10 points


Ribbons- awarded ribbons based the “grade” the judge gives the project on the above requirements.


Blue- A - B+

Red- B – C

White- F


DURING THE SHOW STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO STAY WITH THEIR PROJECT THE ENTIRE SHOW

Plano FFA Follows the UIL Eligibility Guidelines

Courses That Are Exempt From Eligibility Rules


Courses that do not count against eligibility: any AP class, Pre AP, Honors & Pre-Cal

Plano Senior High School

Parent AND student must be present.

Entries fees are paid in full and in EXACT cash or Check made to 'Plano FFA' broken up for each show. You will pay for each show at a different station. Change can not be made.


Social security number MUST be provided.

Additional parking passes $27 and gate passes $20 can be purchased for parents attending
