I anticipate our chapter 1 test will be shortly after we return from Labor Day (perhaps Wednesday or Thursday that week.)
Math MAP testing is Tuesday, August 30th.

7th Grade Voice News
Seventh grade students are doing a wonderful job in voice class. We are learning to read the F Major scale on the staff, and we have read rhythms in 4/4 time with whole notes, half notes, quarter notes and beamed eighth notes.We have also covered basic music symbols required for understanding a musical score.
ELA & SS - Mrs. Owensby
7th Grade ELA
Students will continue to study the elements of realistic fiction writing from selected novels and apply those to personal writing. There will be a stems list given this week with a quiz to follow next week.
7th Grade SS
Students will continue the study of exploration and colonization of North and South America by European countries. They will learn about economic systems known as mercantilism and capitalism.
ELA - Mrs. Templeton
Grammar: We will be working on verbs this week. Quiz on nouns and verbs Friday.
Stems: We are up to 50 stems (review) this week. We have a quiz on Tuesday.
Writing: We are working on writing a realistic fiction piece using dialogue.
Reading: We are reading "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson.
