Weekly Message
Dear Raleigh Hills Staff,
Thank you for your amazing work again this week! On top of your teaching, many of you came in to bag up student belongings and clean your rooms for summer. Each week I am reminded of how amazing each of you are.
I feel like you're getting a lot of information through the daily announcements so I will try to keep the Saturday Scoops a little shorter.
Passwords
If your password is getting low on days, go to your nearest school parking lot and open up the computer. It will automatically add 90 days to your time. If it doesn't automatically add it, follow the directions in the email from Joann. NEVER try to reset your password unless you are on school wifi.
PTO Gift
Don't forget to give us your information so that PTO can deliver your special gift. Or I will if you prefer it. Either way, we need your address ASAP. Fill out this form right away. Please complete it by Monday at 4.
Packing Up Student Belongings
If you were not able to come in on Friday, you need to plan to come next Friday from 10-4 to pack up student belongings. All bags need to be delivered to the gym by 4pm on Friday, May 1. Instructions for doing so are in this doc.
Attendance Log
Unfortunately this document is not optional. You need to be keeping track of the ways students are interacting with learning each week. From now until the end of the year, I need to see the information updated by Sunday of each week. Many of you have been in there and doing this! The rest of us will get there. If you have questions about it, let me know. Please do not make your own copy of this document. I need all the info in one place. Thank you for your prompt attention to this.
Parent Connection Meeting
The parent connection meeting will be on Thursday from 7-8. Here's the details:
Meeting ID: 975 2053 3789
Password: 093893
Join us if you are available.
Have a lovely Sunday. It looks like the rain may come back next week.
Warm regards,
Jennifer
SEL Scoop from Juliet
Many of our Muslim students will be observing Ramadan (April 24-May24th). Here are some things I learned from this article (attached below):
a) Avoid making Muslim students responsible for educating the class about Ramadan. We can take the lead- learn ahead of time and also discover new things together
b) Realize that Muslim families will be getting up before dawn (4:55am) to eat, and fast the rest of the day so students will feel tired
c) Some families may pray at specific times during the day, so they may miss their virtual class time
Check out these classic, fun games to play with students: Chess, Battleship, Uno, Pictionary, Checkers, Crazy Eights, Go Fish!
