And we're off!
The run-up to the first day of school always seems like a race. On the family side, there are supplies to buy, forms to fill out, lunches to pack, and so much more. On the school side, there are rooms to prepare, supplies to inventory, class lists to double-check, and so much more.
That's why the first day of school is actually ... a joyful relief!
It's like preparing for a road trip. You prepare thoroughly, and once you get into the car, you just enjoy the drive. That's what we are doing at Lakeview right now - enjoying time with your students in our "car" - getting to know them, build relationships, and set expectations for the journey together. We have taken our first steps into the school year, but there are miles and miles ahead to enjoy!
First PTO meeting of the year!
Building a Reading Life
School Attendance
End of day pick-up
• Do not call the office to inform us that you will be late to pick up your child. It is the family's responsibility to be on time at 3:35 p.m. every school day.
• Do not call the office at the end of the school day and expect someone to be able to answer your call. The end of the school day is very busy in a school office. You should communicate your plans directly to your child in the morning for afternoon pickup and send a note to the teacher if there is anything other than the normal pickup routine for your child.
Specials Schedule
Monthly calendar listing the day number - use this to find out if today is a Day 1, 2, 3, or 4.
Specials rotation by classroom - use this to identify which special(s) a class has on each day of the rotation. (3rd grade students in Ms. Manthe's class received a letter on Wednesday identifying students that were in each group for specials.)
