9th Grade Rising Freshmen Parent Night

Thursday, February 9th 6:00pm Incoming Freshman to RHS - Student & Parent Meeting in Civic Hall

Seniors - Cap & Gown Ordering

Thursday, February 9th & Friday February 10th - The Herff Jones representatives will be in the Career Center lobby. Seniors may order caps, gowns & graduation announcements during 4th period. All caps and gowns and graduation items ordered, will be delivered to RHS April 20th, and can be picked up during 4th period.

Choir Concert

Thursday, February 16th 7:00pm Solo & Ensemble Choir Concert in McGuire Hall

Friday, February 17th - End of the 4th Grading Period

"Northern Lights" Snowball Dance

Saturday, February 18th 8:00-10:30pm - Snowball Dance in the RHS Cafeteria. Tickets go on sale starting Monday, Feb. 6th. They are $10 each.

Monday, February 20th No School - President's Day

National Honor Society Inductions

Seniors - Honors & Awards Applications are available Now!

Honors & Awards Applications are available now and are due March 1st to Mrs. Porter in the Counseling Center.

Eligibility: GPA 2.0 or higher, plan to attend some form of higher education and are on track to graduate. This includes mid-term & early grads. Interview dates to be announced later. See Mrs. Porter with any questions, 765-973-3324.

FAFSA Help

Sunday, February 26th 2:00pm FAFSA Help Session at IU East. The FAFSA deadline is April 15th.

March 1 - All juniors take the SAT

March 2 - All sophomores have hearing screenings

March 22 - ASVAB testing (select juniors and seniors)

Synchronous Google Meets @ RHS for Snow Days

If there is a snow day, RHS will be doing synchronous Google Meets, therefore RHS students will NOT have to make up days at the end of the school year.

Lost & Found

Is your student missing a jacket, notebook, lunchbox or misc. items? If so, please have the student stop by the Lost & Found area in the east corner of the cafeteria. Smaller items, such as earrings, glasses or wallets, please check with the staff in the main office. Items not claimed at the end of the school year will be donated to local needy or charitable organizations.

If a 2 hour delay happens on a Tuesday, students will not be released early.

Students may enter RHS at Door #1 on Hub Etchison Parkway starting at 7:45am.

The Career Center Door #37 opens at 7:30am so students may going directly to the cafeteria for breakfast. The tardy bell rings at 8:15am.

Internet Options/eLearning Day Connections

A quick reminder that there are many locations across Richmond, including RHS, that offer FREE Wi-Fi!



Morrison-Reeves Library has free internet available 24 hours per day from their parking lots or around the building. Additional internet sites include Downtown Richmond, Reid Hospital, McDonald’s, Burger King, Roscoe’s, Starbucks, and McAlister’s. Also, all of the RCS school buildings.

Student Parking

Students are to park either in the student parking lot across from the Tiernan Center or on the streets around the school. All other parking lots around the school building are reserved for faculty and staff. Students parking in RHS lots that are reserved for faculty, staff, or visitors risk having their car towed from the site at the owner’s expense. If you have any questions regarding parking at RHS, contact Ms. Rae Woolpy at 973-3314.
