4th Grade Newsletter
The Week of February 13th
Valentine's Day
Parents, please do not forget about our nut policy when you are buying treats for the 4th grade. The students will not be eating the treats at school, they will be bringing their bag home to enjoy there. However, we need to follow the school nut policy.
Character T-Shirt Day!
Tomorrow the students may wear their character shirts with their uniform bottoms.
Important Mardi Gras Information
Because St. George's School is on the parade route, we will not have Aftercare and after-school activities on days when Uptown parades are scheduled to roll. Please make note of these dates:
- Friday, February 17th
- Wednesday, February 22nd
- Thursday, February 23rd
- Friday, February 24th
Social Studies
Parents, this week the fourth graders will be taking the thirteen colonies test. Mrs. Sontag's homeroom will be taking theirs tomorrow, Tuesday. Miss. Kenny's homeroom will be taking their test on Friday. The students were given study guides for the test and should review this at home. We will also begin our project assessment of the current unit this week in Computer class. After Mardi Gras break we will begin our study of the American Revolution, this is always a very exciting unit!
Play
Several students have brought in their costumes, thank you! If you have not gotten your child's costume, or you have questions about the costume, please email Mrs. Sontag. The students should be working to memorize their lines at home. After Mardi Gras break the students will not be practicing with scripts. Please help your child by rehearsing with them. Several parents have asked to be reminded of the dates of the play. The play will be performed April 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the theater and again the morning of April 13th for the school.
Have a GREAT week!
Mrs. Sontag, Miss Kenny, Mrs. McConnell, Mrs. Armstrong, and Mrs. Dunn.
