Middle School Homework Club
Homework Club is a safe space for students to complete their classwork after school. It runs every Wednesday from 3:15 until 5:00 PM in the Middle School Media Center and every student is welcome to attend.
Homework Club is supervised by two middle school staff members. The staff are there to provide support to all students. Homework Club can be used as a invaluable resource for students that have been absent to get caught up or for students who just want a quiet place to work. Attendance is voluntary unless you have been directed by office staff to report to Homework Club in place of an extracurricular activity.
When: Wednesdays from 3:15 - 5:00 PM
Where: Middle School Media Center/Computer Lab
**Homework Club will not be providing student transportation.**
Middle School Parent Focus Group
The first meeting will be Monday, November 7th at 6:30 PM in the Middle School Office Conference Room. Please let Mr. Lutterman know if you are interested in being part of this group.
PE Heart Rate Monitor Information - Mr. Van Beek
I hope that everyone is settling into the 2016-2017 school year! I know that we are having a lot of fun in Physical Education and getting used to the routines and procedures. We have completed our first unit (football) and we are in the middle of our second unit (soccer). I look forward to working through all of our units with the classes this year.
Last year we began to use heart rate monitors in Physical Education class. We are getting close to the time of year that we will begin to use them and I wanted to give you some information on the monitors. They are a great asset to our class! Students are able to monitor their own heart rate at real time as they are exercising. In addition, it allows me as the educator to monitor and assess how hard they are working. This can go two ways – either they need to go a little harder OR at times I have to tell them to take it easy. For the most part the students enjoyed using them last year and I am excited to roll them out again this year.
Each student in the class will be assigned a heart monitor. They put the monitor on at the beginning of class and take it off at the end of class. We have a class set of wrist straps (the monitors are worn on the forearm) and I would like to offer the opportunity to any student that would like to purchase their own wrist strap. Students can purchase wrist straps for $5 and the following colors / sizes are available:
Sm/med-blue, black, lime green, pink, orange (depending on quantity)
Med/Lrg-red, black, pink, blue, lime, orange (depending on quantity)
Students DO NOT have to purchase their own strap, we will have a class set. However, students last year were asking if they could purchase them so I wanted to offer the choice. If you have questions regarding the heart rate monitors or any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Shane Van Beek

Fundraiser Update
Mid Quarter - 1
Infinite Campus Update and Information
At the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year, the Triton School District made a student information software transition. We are now using an Internet based program called Infinite Campus. One important feature of Infinite Campus is the Campus Portal. Through the portal, parents/guardians can access their student’s schedules, attendance information, lunch account information, behavior reports and academic information via the Internet. The District is excited about the potential the Campus Portal provides for keeping parents/guardians informed and for opening two-way communication between the school and families.
All parents will be mailed an activation code to start their campus portal account. If you notice incorrect demographic information on your portal or have changes throughout the year, please contact the main office.
Your access code information will be sent out with mid quarter reports.
