George School's Family Update

George School Spirit Day!

On behalf of our School Counselor, Mrs. Rachel Guyt and myself , I want to thank you again for all the support and participation in raising awareness for our special spirit wear this week. It was a nice way to show our support and awareness to our community and families all around the world who have had to cope with these illnesses. Furthermore, we are demonstrating and teaching our students what a kind caring member of a community looks like! Thank you Mrs. Guyt for organizing this George School event!

Halloween Parade, Tuesday, 10/31 at 1:15 p.m.

On Tuesday, October 31st, we will have our annual George School Halloween Parade at 1:15 p.m. The children will make two laps around the soccer field with a picture-taking zone in the middle of the field for parents to stand in order to take pictures. Students will exit the school from the back door and head to the left to begin the parade laps.

Please note the following:

  • All students should wear costumes in the afternoon only.
  • All students will have lunch on Tuesday, Oct. 31st from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
  • Students are dismissed from their regular dismissal spot and should return to their morning drop off spot at 1:00. p.m.
  • Children staying for lunch will be given time to put on their costumes and will be supervised by regular lunch hour supervisors.

Please remember that costumes should be school appropriate and safe for the parade. I am looking forward to my first George School Halloween Parade.

George School Toy Drive for Tomorrow's Children Fun at Hackensack Hospital

George School’s Toy Drive for Tomorrow’s Children’s Fund at Hackensack Hospital.

The Character Trait for the month of November is Citizenship. With some help for our 5th grade Peer Pals we would like to continue helping our community and those in need.

For the month of November we will be holding a Toy Drive for Tomorrow’s Children’s Fund at Hackensack Hospital. Our goal is to collect as many unopened/new gifts* and toys and even gift cards by November 21st. These gifts will be gifted to children and families at Hackensack Hospital during the holidays.

Please drop off all unopened/new gifts in the front lobby.

*Gifts are required to be unopened and new to eliminate any excess germs that could cause illnesses to patients.

About Tomorrows Children’s Fund:

Their Mission:

The Tomorrows Children’s Fund was founded by a group of committed parents to help their children and others like them with cancer and serious blood disorders. With the help of friends like you, today, TCF provides a warm, healthy and loving environment for children in treatment and a full scope of services to relieve families’ emotional and financial stress. In addition to our direct financial aid programs, TCF also offers an array of activities, events, outings, special guests and parties, designed to provide our young patients with a brighter tomorrow. All of which confirms our belief that through hope, hard work and heartfelt generosity, extraordinary things are possible.
