Dear Parents,

Can you believe it...we are nearing the end of the 1st quarter on October 27th. All late work and retakes must be completed by Friday, October 20th.

8th Grade: After learning about the Articles of Confederation and what a failure they were, we started to study the Constitution Convention, the compromises made and next week we’ll get into the debates to ratify the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Ask your student what the 3/5th’s Compromise was all about. Many of them thought it was horrible.
MATH
6th Grade: Your student took a math test on Thursday. We worked on corrections during class on Friday. Corrections are due Monday and they can retake before Friday. This week we will begin discussing rational numbers and how they apply to everyday life. For example, we use rational numbers, which include fractions, for cooking and baking.

7th Grade: We finished our unit on Waves. The students have a BIG project they are working on to demonstrate their understanding of waves to me. It is worth 50 test points and will be due next Friday. They will have limited time in class to work on it, so they should be working on it outside of class as well.
