Volleyball
The Cowgirls finished their first round of district play this past Friday. They are in a tough district race, sitting just 1 game out of 4th place. The top 4 teams in district qualify for the playoffs and the Cowgirls hope to close that gap in the second half of the district season. JV and freshmen teams have shown a lot of improvement this season and have a combined 12-9 district record.
Last week the program celebrated their seniors on senior night and capped the night off with a win against Lewisville. The volleyball program has their upcoming philanthropy night on Oct. 12th as they collect donations to benefit Operation Kindness. Operation Kindness is a North Texas no-kill shelter that provides assistance to animals in need or medical care, companionship, and a home. Players will be selling shirts and fans can receive free admission to the Oct. 12th match by bringing items such as dog beds, pet food, and pet toys. More information about Operation Kindness can be found on their website: www.operationkindness.org. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next home match on October 12th.
