BROOKSIDE SCHOOL LIGHTHOUSE LOG
#382 Pride
Back to School!
What a great month September was! Our Montessori preschool began and we are so excited to welcome these adorable students to our family! Open House was a great success and the welcome video Mr. Crouch and Dr. Sims created is linked below. Brookside teachers and students were happy to be back and the excitement is evident in our September activities. Enjoy the pictures below!
Pre-School
The Montessori friends in A11 are learning the names of geometric shapes, geometric solids, and botany cabinet leaves (see photo above). It is never too early to become a botanist.
Kindergarten
The newest Brookside Barracudas flood the playground to show their school spirit!
1st Grade
Mrs. Gilroy's first graders are talking about numbers! Students paired up to compare the lengths of their names, all while getting to know their new classmates!
2nd Grade
Mrs. Bedini's 2nd graders research rural, urban, and suburban community types and complete their first research project on the information they find. Keep up the good work, 2nd grade!
3rd Grade
3rd Grade artists are hard at work! We are excited to welcome our new Art Teacher, Annie DeVito. The student's creativity is already displayed throughout the school!

Fodor Farm
The first grade classes took a field trip to nearby Fodor Farm on September 18th with help from the Norwalk Tree Alliance!
Art
The hallways are adorned with beautiful art like these "Dot Paintings" by Mrs. Devito's art students. Welcome to Brookside, Mrs. Devito!
Library
Library also celebrated Dot Day by bringing our Dot Creations to life! The Dot by Peter Reynolds is an inspirational story that we celebrate every year!
Our School Garden
Mrs. Cintron, Alek Baez-Perez and Ally Staub were recently recognized for turning our Brookside Garden into a National Wildlife Habitat. Thank you for taking such good care of our school grounds!
