----- Upcoming School Levies - March 14 Election -----

Coeur d'Alene School District voters will be asked to consider approval of two school levies in March:

SUPPLEMENTAL LEVY (passes with approval over 50%)

This would replace the 2-year supplemental levy expiring next year. The levy provides one-quarter of our annual operating funds, and pays for employee costs, textbooks and classroom supplies, student computers, elective classes, sports and extracurricular activities, safety personnel, transportation, custodial services, and more.

What Our Supplemental Levy Pays For

SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE LEVY (passes with approval of 55%)

This levy would expire after 5 years and would fund deferred maintenance and safety projects not currently funded from state and local revenues. This includes school repairs and updates of mechanical systems, plumbing, roofs, flooring, fences, parking lots, security enhancements and other school safety projects.

REFRESHMENT CART DONATIONS

Last year the Dalton Office started a "Refreshment Cart" on Wednesday afternoons. It is essentially "Room Service" that offers a cold beverage, something salty, and something sweet at the halfway marker of the week. It was such a success that it is back this year! We value taking good care of our people so they can take good care of yours.

If you are willing and able to donate items to the cart...that would be amazing! We are in need of supplies such as sparkling water, regular and diet soda, and individual bags of chips. Thank you so much to all who have already donated items, some more than once! I would like to give a shout-out to our 2 volunteers (Jen Hartley and Tammy Exley) who faithfully take our cart around. I truly get to do life with awesome people!

Respectfully,

Debra Albrecht, Office Manager
