SJE Announces New AD for 19-20

This was Steve Buuck's last year as our Atheltic Director (AD) after 9 years of faithful service. Thanks was given to Steve and his family for all the things they have done for SJE athletics over the years at the annual athletic banquet on March 24th. At that time I also announced our new AD beginning in 19-20.

Our new athletic director will be Miss Mefferd our 4th grade teacher. She brings many good things to the table in terms of skills. She was a college athlete, very organized etc. I look forward to many good years with her as our AD. If you have a minute wish her well with her new responsibilities. Steve will mentor her some between now and into next year. .

Current families have until April 30th to enroll without a late fee.

Current and new families, if you are planning on applying for an SGO or School Choice scholarship, please send me the first page of your 1040 sometime in March. There is a new process to apply for an SGO. For next year you will apply for an SGO online and just send me the 1040 to upload for you. The website will be available in early April. Watch for more details to come.

If you have questions about the process, please don't hesitate to ask Amy in the office or myself.

Volunteering at SJE

Please note the info in bold below and see where you might be able to help/volunteer. If you have not yet volunteered this year, time is running out. Please consider doing so.

**Please note that your volunteer hours this year (18-19) will reduce or eliminate up to $400 of the tuition increase/student set for the 19-20 school year.***

The Lutheran SGO for SJE

It's that time again to have a conversation about our SGO. We have many families that have filled out applications requesting funds to assist with their school tuition. This is a great way to help them. It allows the donor to donate funds to the SGO and receive a 50% Indiana state tax credit. If your donation is large enough, you can carry it over up to 8 tax years. Our need this year as of now is $19,500.00, of which we already have about $10,000.00. Please consider giving. There are so many ways to do so and more are coming in early 2019. Please visit the website for more info.
