CAMPUS COMPASS #21
Week of February 8th-12th
NEWS FROM THE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS
~ Thanks to 2nd grade for the letters to Mr. Newcom! He loved them! Thanks to those of you who made banners (Amarisa, Rosa, and 4th grade) as well! He took them all home and was very excited about everything!
~ This week will be Valentine's Day parties on Friday, so we won't have clubs. Parties will begin at 2:00. If parents are coming, we will not send them down to your room (unless you tell us differently) until about 10:55.
~ I will be off campus for a short time tomorrow morning (from about 10:30-12:00), and I will be off campus at a principal's meeting on Thursday morning.
~ Teachers who benchmarked last week- Make sure to see the email I sent this morning about the parent information letter that needs to accompany ANY benchmark data that is sent home.
~ We will have an ELAR vertical meeting tomorrow after school in the conference room. Please bring some current writing samples (one or two is fine) so we can discuss. Please also bring your Writing Pathways book that is found in your Lucy Calkins box sets.
CAMPUS NEWS
~ Shout out to everyone for their flexibility last week during benchmark testing. It takes everyone's help in order to ensure our kiddos get the testing environment they needed. I know schedules have to be altered, and some classes have to change, but we appreciate everyone's help!
~ Make sure to sign up to bring sweet treats on Thursday! Thanks to Sunshine Committee for organizing!! Remember, please bring a treat to share if you want to enjoy the yummy goodies!! We want to have enough to go around!
~ We want to welcome Ronda Kessler to our Elkins staff! She is our new aide in Naomi's room. She has been with the district for several years and has a lot of experience in life skills. We are excited to have her on board! Make sure to stop and introduce yourself if you see her in the hallway and welcome her to Elkins!! Welcome aboard, Ronda!
