Math
We have reviewed comparing objects through measurable attributes. This week, we focused on weight comparisons. Not only did we practice comparing the weight of two objects, we also put five different objects in order based on their weight.
Reading
We enjoyed reading Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner. We responded to a number of questions about the story using our comprehension strategies. The kids found this book very humorous and enjoyed responding to the prompts.
We have continued our focus on blending sounds together to build CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words such as cat, pan, dad, and map. This week, we practiced short a words, and we will work on short u words next week.
6th Grade Learning Buddies
Today, we practiced numbers to one hundred and place value by coloring a mystery picture with our buddies. We are getting ready to celebrate the hundredth day of school on January 30th!!! Look for more information next week.
