Our ecoregion has rolling terrain filled with an exodus of oaks and pines. It has an average of 70*F and the temperatures and humidity are typically high throughout the year. There is a lot of vegetation and this region is home to a variety of plants and rare animals that like the shorelines and woodlands. In addition, many swamps inhabit the area especially in the Big Thicket sector.
Breaking down of rocks and other parts of the Earth into smaller pieces caused by water, air, chemicals, plants, or animals. This represents weathering as water flows and and breaks down the rocks into sediments.
Piney woods has heavy to moderate rainfall and some areas can reach up to 60 inches of rainfall per year. Pine plantations are widely spread across this ecoregion and this place is also near the Gulf coast.
