Our ecoregion has rolling terrain filled with an exodus of oaks and pines. It has an average of 70*F and the temperatures and humidity are typically high throughout the year. There is a lot of vegetation and this region is home to a variety of plants and rare animals that like the shorelines and woodlands. In addition, many swamps inhabit the area especially in the Big Thicket sector.

Information
Piney woods has heavy to moderate rainfall and some areas can reach up to 60 inches of rainfall per year. Pine plantations are widely spread across this ecoregion and this place is also near the Gulf coast.
