Important Emerald Campus Information
International Baccalaureate
We will be officially registering students for the required IB examinations in the coming month. Assessment is valued as an essential component of IB. Assessments provide students with opportunities to determine the degree to which they have mastered content knowledge, techniques, and skills and reflect on their progress, allowing for ongoing self-evaluation of strengths and areas for improvement.
Assessments for the IB program include two parts: Internal and External assessments. For two-year courses, the assessments occur during the second year of the course.
See the attached letter to read more details about the IB assessment program.
See this attachment for a draft assessment calendar including both internal and external assessment dates.
The assessment fee for each course is $119 and is assessed during the year of assessment. Once we verify the student test registrations, we will send an invoice electronically to parents.
We hope to have the invoice out no later than October 15th. Registration fees are due by November 15th. If a student qualifies for a free and reduced lunch, the cost will be waived. If you have not applied for free and reduced lunch, it is a yearly required application. Families can apply through PaySchools https://www.payschoolscentral.com/ or complete and turn in a paper application found here https://www.dublinschools.net/Page/1454. If there are other financial concerns you would like considered, please contact Ann Tiefenthaler [Tiefenthaler_Ann@dublinschools.net].
For more information, please reach out to us, visit our website, read our IB overview, or review our IB Parent/Student Handbook.

October 7th: TEDx speaking event, TEDxInnovationDr at the Exchange at Bridge Park, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Dublin, Ohio's own TEDx speaking event, TEDxInnovationDr. This will be our fourth event - and for 2021 it will be held at The Exchange at Bridge Park, on October 7th, from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
TED is a nonprofit focused on promoting "ideas worth spreading" through speaker events and performances, with the "x" in TEDx indicating an independently-run event. This year, a team of community leaders -- students, local residents, and Dublin employees -- have collaborated with the backing of the Dublin Community Foundation to produce our event.
This year we will be featuring Dana McDaniel, Dublin City Manager, and Dr. John Marschhausen, Superintendent Dublin City Schools as two of our speakers. Participants will also hear from Sean Clifton, Master Sergeant (retired), and US Army Special Forces (Green Beret). As always we will also have dynamic high school students who will be sharing their passion for this theme at the event. This will be a night of amazing ideas worth sharing and we hope you can join us.
Interested attendees can register for the event using the form at this link: https://forms.gle/W7QiT9KsB16RU1LMA
This year's theme is, (re)define which truly encompasses the process almost all of us have been through over the last year as we're dealing with the changes brought on by the pandemic. The talks will focus on diversity, education, health, and technology, as these topics are paramount in the Dublin community. Our line-up will bring the soul of Dublin to life. These talks and performances will have you (re)defining your limits while making you laugh, or even shed a tear.
We sincerely hope that you will be able to attend our event on October 7th! To RSVP (tickets this year are free of charge), please fill out the form in the link above. For pictures of our venue, a list of current sponsors, information about the TEDxInnovationDr team, and the full speaker listing, please check our website, www.tedxinnovationdr.org.
We hope to see as many of you as possible on October 7th.
