Research Assistants Needed
Brain Imaging, Behavior and Aging Lab - Research Assistant
Director: Gene E. Alexander, Ph.D.
Available for: Independent Study Credit/Volunteer
Dates: Spring & Fall semesters, Summer
Contact Person: Cortney Jessup, cjcoxon@email.arizona.edu
Description:
The Brain Imaging, Behavior and Aging Lab studies brain-behavior relationships in the context of aging. We use neuroimaging techniques, including structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET), in combination with measures of cognition and behavior to address research questions on cognitive aging and age-related neurodegenerative disease. Research Assistants may be involved in multiple aspects of projects such as: data entry, collecting and analyzing data, recruiting and screening participants over the phone, assisting with the collection of MRI and fMRI data (images of the brain), and participation in lab meetings and discussions.
Expectations:
- Research assistants will be expected to commit to at least 10 hours per week in the lab and to reliably adhere to that schedule throughout each semester.
- A 1 year commitment must be made upon being invited into the lab so that there is sufficient time for training and hands on experience.
- Lab hours will be based on the Research Assistant’s schedule and will be documented.
- Assistants will be introduced to multiple projects upon entering the lab, will focus on one project, and will be expected to assist with other projects if needed.
- We are looking for a wide array of applicants, especially those strong in the sciences and those considering graduate school.
- Only serious, committed applicants please.
If interested, please email your resume and availability for the semester to Cortney Jessup, cjcoxon@email.arizona.edu.
The Neuroscience of Reinforcement Learning and Decision-Making Lab at the University of Arizona is looking to recruit Research Assistants for a study looking at decision-making and aging. Research assistants would help with participant recruitment, neuropsychological testing, and organization.
Research Assistants would need to commit to 6 hours a week during this semester and there are plenty of opportunities to become more involved, present, and take on their own independent projects.
If you are interested in this opportunity please send an email to jackmorganmizell@email.arizona.edu, telling me about your favorite class you have taken here, one fun fact about yourself, and your year in college.
