Endeavour Family Bulletin
December 18, 2020
Schools will be closed for winter break from December 21-January 1. School resumes on Monday, January 4, 2021.
Last Edition of 2020
While distance learning is not the same as having children in the building, we are seeing a lot of growth in our students. This is a direct result of the partnership between school and home. A lot of time and effort on your part has helped our staff provide the best possible setting in a remote environment. We are very grateful for all of our Endeavour families.
Winter break is an opportunity to make new memories with those you love and hold dear. I hope that each of you enjoys every moment of the coming days, and on behalf of our staff, we look forward to seeing everyone in January!
Safety Update
The posted building use signs clearly say that peaceful use of the playground and shelter are welcomed until 10:00 or dusk , whichever comes first. Unfortunately, that has not been a deterrent from night use.
In collaboration with our district's safety department, the lights of the shelter will no longer be on after dark. It is considered trespassing to bring lights into the shelter after dark to use the shelter. Anyone in the shelter will be asked to leave the campus. The Mukilteo Police Department will be routinely patrolling our campus to help with this effort.
Again, please know that this is not an effort to be unwelcoming. Rather it is a united commitment to keep our campus safe and clean. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions.
From Mr. Noble
Hello Endeavour Eagles,
I hope everyone will have a lovely holiday break and that your kids will get a chance to practice the things they have learned in our SEL class. If you do need any assistance throughout the holiday break, the district has provided a link that can be found on the district and our Endeavour school website under the “Need Help?” tab. It will provide links to community-based resources that are focused on supporting the health and wellness of anyone, especially your children. Please check it out if you are needed any assistance. Have a great holiday break!
New Library Pick-Up Information
Effective starting on Wednesday, January 6, Curbside Check-out will be moving from Thursdays to Wednesdays and will be offered during some of the times when families can come to pick up their materials. Families can now pick up books on Wednesdays (whether there is Materials Distribution or not) from 12:00 – 2:00 *or* 4:30 – 6:00 PM.
This change means that the deadline for placing holds and submitting a Book Request Form will also need to change. Starting in January, students must place holds and/or submit Book Request Forms by 4:00 PM on Monday afternoons preceding their check-out day. I turn off the Book Request Form and print a final Holds list after 4:00, so they MUST beat this deadline; I’ve been encouraging students not to wait to the last minute.
Mrs. Smeby made a video announcement for each grade in this week’s Library Watch, Read, Do Playlist (FYI: this is the document created each week with all the links to the videos, activities, etc, that children are to do for their weekly “Library Time”). Students also have access to the attached graphic with the updated Curbside dates and times.
Thank you! Please message Mrs. Smeby in Schoology or email smebysb@mukilteo.wednet.edu if you have questions!
Please see the flyer below.
January Materials Distribution

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, January 6.
Thought Exchange
This has been a challenging year. Distance learning is proving to be challenging for some while others are thriving with it. We want to know what is working for your child and what could be better. We are asking students and their families to share their thoughts with us through this quick exchange.
You can share one or more thoughts in answer to the one main question: What is keeping you engaged in learning and what could increase your engagement?
Then you’ll have a chance to read and rate other families’ thoughts – the higher the rating, the more you agree with a comment. Students are also invited to share their thoughts and rate their fellow students’ thoughts. You can choose which language you’d like to participate in on the opening screen.
Participate as often as you like. In fact, if you come back to the exchange later, there will be more thoughts to read and rate, and your participation will make the discussion that much better.
The exchange will remain open through January 8, so feel free to check in during Winter Break.
Thanks for your thoughts about your child’s engagement in learning. We invite you to share a thought or two now.
