Cohort C- NWEA Testing Schedule
We hope this communication finds you well as we continue to maneuver through this unique time. Believe it or not, we are almost half way through the 20-21 school year and are approaching the administration of the Winter NWEA tests. This winter test is important for both our students and our teachers to monitor their growth throughout this year. Middle school students are tested in the areas of reading and math.
As we did in the fall, we are asking that Cohort C students report to the building for NWEA testing. Testing will take place on Wednesday, January 27th. This is a Remote Wednesday, so no other students will be in the building on this day. Your student will be assigned to an AM or PM testing session. Please see the chart below for the session you are to attend.
Parents will need to provide transportation to and from the middle school. Please drop off/pick up at the designated door indicated above.
As a reminder, students will need their Chromebooks and a writing utensil. In addition, we will be following the safety protocols of wearing a mask and keeping six feet apart while in the building. Students may bring water, but no food will be allowed. Lunches will not be provided please eat before or after the testing session.
We look forward to seeing you during your designated testing period. Contact your counselor if you have any questions concerning the testing. We appreciate your help in providing this valuable information.

Youth Leadership Program
Romeo Middle School has been selected to participate in the Youth Leadership Program sponsored by inspirED!, Yale University, and the MISD. The purpose of this program is to empower our youth to make a difference in their schools. We will have eight 8th grade students participate in an all day virtual training program on February 10th. After their training program they will then work with Jessica Bennett and Shelley Bjorkstrand to develop a plan to focus on one aspect of the school climate they would like to improve. As part of this program all students must complete a School Environment survey and a Healthy Technology Use/Emotions at school survey. Parents do have the option of opting their children out of the surveys and if they would like to do this, they would request an opt out form from the office. Stay tuned to see what amazing things our students create to make their school a better place.
