Digital Learning Day 2014
A day in the life of Technology in 4th grade
Mrs. Stoll's 4th Grade Class Dripping Springs Elementary School - Technology Day
Feb 5, 2014 is the Digital Day of Learning. Our class continues to integrate technology into every lesson and subject. We are a BYOD school, where students are encouraged to bring their own device - iPad, tablet, iPhone, Kindle, or laptop to school for technology integration throughout the day. Today we will share with you how we are using technology and digital learning through out our day.
Great eBooks - what are you reading? Are you using a device?
Many of my students are using their iPads during read aloud. Right now we are reading Wonder written by R J Palacio. As I read aloud many students read along.
Do you use a device to read from? What books have you read from a device? Did you like it better? Why or Why not?
Other Wonderful eBooks to Read
Warriors the new prophecy book 6 sunset
I am using my kindle paper write to read sunset. I use my kindle to read every book that I need to read. It's much more easy to get books on my kindle than to go out and buy one at a book store. Amazon has a huge selection, and you can get pretty much any book you want. If you have a kindle there is no wait for books. Most of the books I've read have been on my kindle.
Titans Curse
I am using a app called amazon kindle with many books or magazines to read.I used my Samsung Tablet. It is about a child named Percy Jackson who has been on many adventures like Olympus and the Sea of Monsters. But he doesn't know whats coming next. The third book is the best book I have read yet and I am ready for the fourth book. I recommend you read the series before you read the third or second book.
No Way Out
I have this book on my Kindle App. The App is on an iPad 2. It takes awhile to download and it is a very scary book. If you like mysteries this is a good book for you. I recommend this book for mystery lovers.

Favorite iPad Apps
Edmodo
We have use Edmodo a lot in our class. There are apps for phones and iPads. We have used Edmodo with Out Of My Mind and three other classes join our Edmodo and we posted questions to each other. It is great way to have a little book talk. Mrs. Stoll post questions for us to answer like how do you remember to read every night? I really love it. It's a great way to communicate what you have learned and I encourage you to get Edmodo and set up a account.
Google Drive
Google Drive is one of the easiest, most efficient operating bases. Most people in my grade have used it and have liked it a lot. It can do stuff like documents, slideshows, charts, graphs, and forms. You can also download awesome apps like chess, Rubik's cube, Powtoon, and much much more. It is extremely easy to use and it can be used for almost everything. Also, it has amazing collaboration. You can start a project at school and finish it at home. You can access your account from any computer anywhere! You can also share your work so that two people can work on the same thing at the same time and talk to each other using the chat feature. Even if you were on opposite sides of the Earth! What I like most about Google Drive is that you can make some extremely cool stuff really easily and that you can download a lot of Google apps for free! Google Drive is an extremely easy piece of technology and I encourage you to use it!
Haiku Deck
A lot of my class has done haiku deck. A haiku deck is a presentation app on an I pad or on a laptop/computer. What I like most about haiku deck is that it is fun to make and you can choose backgrounds . I think that it is fun to make a haiku deck . In my free time I've made lots of Haiku Decks such as Drake Mallory, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and more.
