Christ Child Academy Newsletter
May 9, 2019
From the Desk of Mr. Ruedinger
As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to "Thank" all the teachers and staff who dedicate their lives to the development of children through Catholic values. The time and energy that goes into being a teacher in 2019 is incredible and our teachers do a wonderful job in a caring fashion.
Last night we enjoyed a wonderful concert performed by our K-8 students! Thank you to the students and Mrs. Paula Harder for blessing us with songs of deliverance. It is always a pleasure to see our children’s gifts displayed. The concert was video-recorded and will be added to the link on the CCA website.
On Tuesday, we celebrated Grandparent's Day / May Crowning at CCA. It was great to see all the grandparents join us for our weekly Mass along with visits to the classrooms to view student work and the gym for refreshments.
Since we joined PowerSchool three years ago, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee has not recognized computer/technology as a separate class. To better align with the standards of accreditation, we will discontinue our current computer/technology class beginning with the 2019-2020 school year. These skills will be integrated into the classroom curriculum.
With the reduced position, Mrs. Susan Ebert has chose not to return as our resource center specialist. This open position will be posted. We thank her for guiding our school through the transition from laptops to Chromebooks over the last four years while upgrading the library and reading programs.
A note from Mrs. Ebert: Over the last four years, I have had the honor to get to know and build positive relationships with each of the students at CCA! I will miss teaching the fun library classes as well as watching each student grow in so many ways. I wish only the best for the students, parents, staff, and community here at Christ Child Academy. Although growth hurts at times, it is through change that we can explore what God and this world has for us in our journey. Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child and I hope the skills they have learned in computer class will serve them well in the future. It has truly been a pleasure! God Bless, Mrs. Susie Ebert
The Spring Band Concert will be held Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 pm at Christ Child Academy in the IC Parish Activity Center/Gym.
MAP testing will be held the week of May 13-16. All students in grades K - 8 will be tested to see how they have progressed this year. Please do not schedule any appointments for your children during this time. It is important that the students are in attendance and well-rested, so they can do their best on the tests. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please join the CCA students and staff for the “Living Rosary” being held on Friday, May 17 at 2:00 pm in the Church. The month of May is dedicated to The Blessed Virgin Mary.
The State of the School Celebration will be on Tuesday, May 28th. The evening begins with free pizza and water in the gym for all parents and students from 5:30-6:30 pm. The parent’s only meeting will be held in the church from 6:30-7:00 pm. Babysitting/supervision will be provided for students in the gym and playground from 6:30-7:15 pm. We look forward to celebrating a wonderful school year and sharing future school initiatives.
Quarter 4 report cards will be mailed out after the last day of school this year.
Please spread the word about CCA! There are incentives for each student a family recruits to our school. Please see our Student Referral Program below for detail.

Welcome to our new Art Teacher
Hi, my name is Lori Ritmiller and I am very excited to be joining your amazing school community as your new art specialist.
I have been teaching for nine years, two of them in Milwaukee and seven of them at Seton Catholic School where I currently teach art part-time. I have a deep joy and love for the arts and can’t wait to share my knowledge with the students at Christ Child Academy.
I attended Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design thinking I wanted to go into the graphic design field but discovered something was missing, I wasn’t excited and had no passion for design. I then transferred to UW-Milwaukee and found a love for teaching. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and my teaching license.
I live in Sheboygan on the North side with my two children. My daughter is 16 and my son is 19. We also have an English Mastiff named “Big.”
I look forward to teaching the school year ahead and can’t wait to create some awesome art with all the amazing artists at Christ Child Academy!
