Mission Mondays
Garner Levels Up
We need your help to ensure that your child is also leveling up their game in school. We need our students to stay focused on the number one priority, which is academic achievement. Talk with your child and find out what their grades are. In a couple of weeks, the first grading cycle will be complete and reports cards will be electronically available for you to review. Your child needs to attend tutoring if he/she is failing a class. Make sure he/she has a binder, paper, student agenda book, and other supplies needed in every class every day. Make sure your child is turning in their classwork and homework every day and making up assessments they did not initially master.
To achieve our mission at Garner, we need the entire community to work together to "level up!" Go Yearlings!
New Library Happenings!
We have "Mindful Mondays" where students can color, work on puzzles, and of course, study and read. Coming soon, we will have "Tabletop Tuesdays and Thursdays" in which students can practice their mind-sharpening skills by playing chess and other board games.
This month of October we started a 3D Printing Challenge using the latest technology in 3D printers in our Maker's Space classroom. Students will create a jack-o-lantern using Tinkercad. Students will vote on the most creative submission. The one with the most votes will be printed in 3D. The class code to join is 4o5zcb. This is open to the entire campus. We are also planning a learning opportunity on October 8th during all lunches. Students can stop by the library to receive guidance on their projects.
Lunch and Learn with Mrs. Wernli is also continuing! Students are building their vocabulary and learning about Rebus puzzles. These targeted interventions are schedule through December. We love and appreciate community member Mrs. Wernli for your active contributions to our students!
