Setting: The Capitol
Much of the novel takes place in the Capitol which is surrounded by thirteen Districts. President Snow resides in the Capitol. Residents from the Capitol hide underground throughout the novel.
Main Character: Professor Snow
Professor Snow is leader of the Captiol during the novel. His fate will be decided by Katniss towards the end of the Novel after making many influential decisions for many years. Holds the utmost power in the Hunger Games trilogy.
The Districts unite in the novel in an attempt to overthrow President Snow and the power that resides in the Capitol. Citizens take aim to gaining their freedom through powerful movements that are categorized as war.
WHY THIS MATTERS IN SOCIAL STUDIES

THE TRAVELING AROUND PANEM THAT CHARACTERS IN THE BOOK WILL HELP YOU TO GET A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF DIRECTIONS AND MILES IN THE UNITED STATES. YOU WILL ALWAYS NEED MAPS AND IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO LEARN ABOUT THEM.
