Halloween Week was SPOOK-TAC-ULAR!!

We all had a BLAST seeing all of the students (and the Teachers!) dressed up in their costumes this past week ! A BIG Thank You to all the parents who brought snacks and treats for the end of class treat parties! The kids had a great time dancing to fun Halloween music all week and grabbing some yummy treats! Check out some of our pics below and make sure you follow our studio's Facebook page so that you can check out our Halloween Week 2020 Album.

Got some cute Halloween Week photos you'd like to include? Send them to us at DancinGJDC@aol.com.

September/October STUDENTS OF THE MONTH !

We are so excited to announce our September/October 2020 Students of the Month! Our teachers and staff put their heads together and came up with a great group of kids who have shown great work ethic, great attendance and always on time and prepared, kindness to their peers, and who were polite and respectful to their teachers. A few may have stepped out of their box or did an act of kindness when no one was watching (but they were caught!)..... We are so proud of them and hope that, in this crazy time, your kindness, love and positivity will spread like Glitter !!

** Stop by the office next week (Nov. 9th-13th) to grab a little something special from us !

Schedule Reminder:

Bring a Friend Satur-DAY is this Saturday, November 7th from 12-2pm (see above schedule)

DONATIONS are still being accepted for our Soles4Souls Winter Shoe Drive

PLEASE bring us your unused, well-loved shoes (We'll take them all!) You can drop off at the bin located outside/inside the lobby door, or leave outside by the back door during the times the studio is closed IF the shoes are bagged.

Costume Measurements - will start Monday, November 9- 20th. Students will be measured in each class for their Spring Performance costumes. If you will be absent during this time, please alert the front office.

Colonial Heights Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting events 2020 - unfortunately, have be cancelled by the city.

Thanksgiving Break - Monday, November 23rd-Saturday, November 28th, 2020 - Studio CLOSED

Winter Break - Monday, December 21,2020- Saturday, January 2, 2021 - Studio CLOSED

** We DO NOT close for smaller holidays, parent/teacher conference days, teacher work days/half days, etc. In the event that there is MAJOR weather circumstance, we will ALWAYS post on the GJDC Facebook page/IG AND send out a studio wide alert through email. After the crazy 2020 mandatory closing of businesses, we will most likely always be open and can provide a virtual zoom code for those that cannot attend in person under these situations. You must use your best judgment for your child/family whether it is safe for you, in your area, to come out. **

We do follow Colonial Heights Public Schools AND Chesterfield County Public Schools for most weather related closings IF full days have been cancelled BUT we will still send out the above AND also call into the school/business closings for the following stations: CBS 6, Channel 8, and NBC 12 online. In the event that schools let out early or cancel after school activities because there is " a chance of", we will most likely still be open but may have to call an early closing of the studio since our classes do go until 9:30pm every night. We will still post this on our FB page/IG AND send out a studio wide AND individual class update through email if this occurs.

COVID PROTOCOLS

We want to thank everyone for working to adapt to the new protocols we have had to put in place for our dance studio home. They have definitely not been easy but they are in place to keep everyone well and safe and to keep our studio OPEN for business! We are lucky to have separate entrance/exit doors for each of our studio rooms to keep congestion in the halls at zero right now and students have been so amazing wearing their masks and sanitizing/temp scans to get in and out of the building. We have also seen an amazing amount of kindness of classmates for those that choose to dance with their masks on because they may have family members that may be of low immunity/highly vulnerable to the possibility of Covid. We see students put their masks back on to help their fellow classmates in that precaution and it makes us so proud. The amount of kindness and grace this year in these classes has been heartwarming. We believe they learn so much more than dance here !!

Please remember, if you or your child has tested positive for Covid, or you have come in contact with someone who has tested positive or you believe you have symptoms and have not yet tested, you are not allowed to enter the building. Our dance families are trusting us to keep the kids safe and we are trusting our dance families to keep us safe and our business open.

We do want to extend a reminder for those that come into the lobby area with questions for Mrs Haley or account help, purchase merchandise, etc. that MASKS MUST BE WORN BY EVERYONE right now inside the building. If you don't have a mask, one can be provided for you or we can do curbside help if you call our office number beforehand and we will take care of all your needs. We appreciate your support in this matter.
