Hello SMS Families!

Happy Friday!


It has been a great week at SMS!


This week began the 2nd semester!


We had a busy week this week! We had the Megan Meier Foundation assembly on Wednesday, our intramural volleyball spirit assembly on Thursday, our intramural volleyball tournament Thursday night, and also had a spirit week for staff and students!


We also announced our SMS Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year on Friday! See more below.


Also, don't forget about the SMS Rocket Club night at Qdoba Tuesday night! 25% of sales that night will benefit the SMS Rocket Club. See the flyer below for more details.

SMS Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year

We are proud to congratulate our 2023 SMS Teacher of the Year Jill Strange! Jill teaches 8th Math at SMS and we are thankful for all she does for our kids at SMS!



We are also excited to announce that Carla Tesreau is our 2023 SMS Support Staff of the Year! Carla is our Diagnostic Secretary/Registrar at SMS. Her great attitude and sense of humor is contagious to all at SMS. Thanks Carla for all you do!

Congratulations to all of our January students of the month! We had a great time honoring them and their parents with breakfast this morning!

Fellowship of Christian Athletes After School Club

Tuesday, January 31st Mr. Perstrope will be holding the first Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meeting. This will be a student led and promoted group open to all! Meetings will be twice a month from 3:00 pm until 4:10 pm. If you have any questions or need more information, please reach out to Mr. Perstrope at perstroped@foxc6.org

Schedule changes at semester

Please have your child check Tyler for their 2nd semester schedule. There may be changes to their schedule due to changes in their electives.


Just a reminder that counselors will not be changing schedules unless it is a clerical error on our end.

SMS Yearbook

Gaming Club

Join us every Thursday after school from 3:00 pm until 3:50 pm for SMS Gaming Club! Students will engage in Card/Board games that challenge their strategic skills. Games being played will include Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Magic, Chess, Pathfinders, Settlers of Catan and many others. There are NO electronic games allowed in Gaming Club. We want to teach kids to interact without their phones. Games teach students how to settle conflicts, how to take turns, how to have patience, and how to interact appropriately. No need to sign up beforehand, just show up and check in with Mrs. Wason and Mrs. Willard!
