Boone High School Graduation for the Class of 2021
- Masks are optional if graduation is outside or inside
- The ticket limit was lifted at the last board meeting. However, those with tickets will be able to sit in the reserved section in the stadium or in the gym if graduation must be indoors due to inclement weather
- Every graduate will have received 4 reserved seat tickets, for the reserved section (Seniors will receive these 4 tickets during Class Day on Friday, May 28th)
- If graduation moves inside, the gym will be for these reserved seats, everyone else will be in commons, etc.
Friday an announcement will be made regarding weather/site for graduation.
However, a final decision will be made at 8am on Sunday- if weather becomes an issue.
An email will be sent out soon to parents regarding what time attendees should arrive.

State Track
Tegan Bock was class 3A state champion in the 400m hurdles. Tegan also placed 3rd in the 400m. 4x400m relay team of Josiah Parks, Austin McCloud, Parker Newcomb, and Tegan Bock placed 7th.

Jayton Poole -High Jump (Finished 12th)
Alternates: Kyle Sharp, Jonah Waltz
Girls State Track Qualifiers:
*Erin Ades -Discus (Finished 21st)
*Emily Wingert -High Jump (Finished 19th)
*Britni Blackburn-High Jump (Finished 22nd)
*Audrey Castle -400 Meter Hurdles (Finished 20th)
*Distance Medley Relay: Britni Blackburn, Emily Wingert, Natalee Danner, Alizarin Purtle (Finished 18th)
*4x100 Meter Relay: Morgan Lyons, Emily Wingert, Emma Dighton, Natalee Danner
Girls Tennis: *Defeated North Polk in the first round of Team Regionals 5-0
*Lost to Union Community in the second round of Team Regionals 0-5
*Kinsie Zinnel finished as District Singles Champion and Qualified for the State Tournament in Waterloo, IA
*Morgan Kathman finished as District Singles Runner-up and Qualified for the State Tournament in Waterloo, IA
Boys Tennis: *Boys Team were District Champions
*Qualified for State as a Team with a 5-0 Victory over Keokuk (Played at North Polk)
*Lost in the State Team Quarterfinals to Cedar Rapids Xavier (Played at Ballard)
*Ben Craven qualified for State Singles as District Champion and will play in Waterloo, IA
*Marcus McPartland/Joe Zehr qualified for State Doubles as District Champions and will play in Waterloo, IA
Golf: Layden Losh *shot a 76 at Sectionals in Ames to Qualify for the District Meet in Waverly, iA
*finished with an 83 at Districts in Waverly to finished tied for 15th.

Scholarship Information
Don't forget about THE LAST DOLLAR Scholarship. This is a state-funded program for Iowans who:
- Are recent high school graduates enrolling in an eligible program full-time OR recent high school graduates who are enrolling in an eligible program part-time and are employed in an approved work-based learning program OR adult learners (20 and older) starting an eligible program at least part-time
- Have applied for all other available aid
- Plan to earn a credential for a high-demand job
This program, as the name implies, is intended to cover any remaining gap between federal and state grants/scholarships and tuition and qualified fees. Credentials include postsecondary certificates, diplomas and associate degrees. Click this link for more information.
