C.S. PORTER - 6th GRADE TRANISITION
Dear future Cougar Families,
Welcome to C.S. Porter! We are so excited to have you next year, in hopefully a more "normal" year than our current and last year!!
This link: Sixth Grade Transition Videos includes a virtual tour (5:24) of our school, a message from our Student Ambassadors (4:03), as we try to put students in varied leadership and service positions, as well as a message from our Flagship program (1:43), as we take pride in our after school activities. They can be yours to view over and over, as unfortunately, we can't have all of our incoming sixth graders visit the school like we did pre-Covid. Also included is a google form, which will help me prepare for my visits to school. Please list any middle school questions you may have on the form.
We plan on having an Open House for 6th grade students and families only on Wednesday, August 18th from 5-7 pm where I will give a short presentation, you'll learn about school wide initiatives, run through team building activities tour the school and host a a parent Q & A. You will NOT need to bring any supplies as school starts August 30th and we do NOT plan on using lockers (more on that at Open House).
6th Grade Only Day: Monday, Aug 30th
This is a day just for our sixth grade students to get tours, learn about school-wide expectations, and meet each of their teachers without 7th or 8th grade students present and with the extra support of staff.
Please use the form within the "Sixth Grade Transition Videos" link (above), or email or call with any questions. We have a great staff that are experienced in making 6th grade GREAT!
Can't wait to meet you all!
