Principal's Note
I want to thank everyone for their support with our big fundraiser, the Glow Run. We were able to collect $9,845.80 for our school and are touched by all of your support and involvement! Students, staff, and families thoroughly enjoyed the Glow Run event. It was so nice to see all of you and experience this together! On Thursday, 10/6, the top 3 students (who brought in the most contributions from the fundraiser) will be turning me into a human ice cream sundae! This will occur at 12:30 pm. We will be sure to post pictures of the event!
As you know, we are designated a Title I school through Free and Reduced Meal applications. If you have not already filled this out, please do so. It is very important that we continue to receive funding to support our students. This funding pays for a certified academic interventionist, 5 paraprofessionals, after-school tutoring, and computer programs to support student learning.

Toolbox is BACK!- Mrs. Riviera
It gives me great pleasure to announce that Toolbox is back!! The 12 tools of Toolbox reside inside us all and help us develop strong social and emotional skills. The 12 Tools of our Inner Toolbox are:
1. Breathing Tool
2. Quiet/Safe Place Tool
3. Listening Tool
4. Empathy Tool
5. Personal Space Tool
6. Using Our Words Tool
7. Garbage Can Tool
8. Taking Time Tool
9. Please & Thank You Tool
10. Apology & Forgiveness Tool
11. Patience Tool
12. Courage Tool
The tools are simple, but they require practice, practice, practice, and more practice. Let’s all learn and practice the Toolbox tools together at home and at school to create a respectful, responsible, and safer school community together!!
Nurse's Corner
Hello everyone!
I’m sure all of you kids are getting excited for Halloween! The costumes and especially the Candy! Please make sure to be safe out there and always stay in a group, this makes it more difficult for predators.
I want to talk about something that is a bit disturbing to me not only as a nurse but as a parent as well. Lake Havasu City Police Dept. would like to make the community aware of a new drug that has arrived in AZ. It’s Methamphetamine, which is in a pill form and resembles “sweet-tart” candy. This candy-like pill comes in different shapes and sizes and has various imprints that make it hard to distinguish between candy and an illegal drug. It is known on the street as “Candy”. Parents are encouraged to educate their children on the danger of drugs and the risks of taking any pill that is NOT properly dispensed by a licensed doctor.
October monthly Observations: Down Syndrome Awareness, Emotional Awareness, Eat better/Eat Together Month, and Celebrating the Bilingual Child Month. These are only a few of the monthly observations, there are too many to name.
Reminder to everyone about Immunizations, if you know your child has their 11th birthday coming Please schedule them for their Tdap/MCV4 vaccines. This is a state requirement. I always send out reminders because I know life gets in the way.
Feel free to call me anytime at 928-505-6042, please leave a message if I’m not available.
Ms. Kat (Nurse)
