Akers' Updates

School News
Current Enrollment: 973
Front Office Procedures:
Please continue helping us to train students to go the back way to the office. It is going really well and the kids are starting to get used to this new practice.
AM Announcements Change
We're getting a bottleneck! Instead of having everyone stop in the hallway for the entire morning announcements, we will be changing that procedure to have students continue walking and then stop during the pledges, chant, and moment of silence. We hope this will help students get to you sooner!
Donors Choose!
In the past, there was a time when Donors Choose was not allowed in CFISD, however, the ban has been lifted (hooray) and we are approved to use Donors Choose IF you follow CFISD's protocol first. Here are the official procedures - it basically involves filling out a form and getting your principal to approve it (your principal is so on board)! Also, know that Chevron is funding projects like CRAZY - so now is a great time to create a project and get books, flexible seating, a standing desk, or other dream-worthy supplies for your classroom! :)
Staff Updates:
I spoke to Coach Sheppard and he is getting good reports from his doctors! He requests that we keep him in our prayers.
Be sure to give Mrs. Stelly and Mrs. Burke an extra word of encouragement as they move into their new roles on Monday!
Please give Mrs. Shah some words of encouragement as the teacher that she was planning to be supporting (Mrs. Burke) has now moved to PPCD and she will be supporting a sub until we fill this opening. This is a tough transition for her and the Pre-K babies. Please give her encouragement and thank her for her support in that classroom!
