Order of Extension for Schools to Close Through April 30 from Riverside University Health System - Public Health
Dear TVUSD Community,
Late today, Riverside University Health System - Public Health, ordered the closure of schools for Riverside County through April 30, 2020.
As we have shared previously, our sites have been gearing up for non-classroom educational learning opportunities to be offered to our students should an extended period of school closure occur. We are finalizing plans today. We will share specific details tomorrow, March 18, about the plan along with information about how to access devices and support.
Communicating proactively with our families and staff consistently throughout this rapidly moving issue remains a top priority. As with any new development, we ask that you give us appropriate time to respond to the extenuating circumstances that the extended school closure entails, including school meals, events, and student co-curricular activities, etc. It is our goal to do as much as we can to lessen anxiety and panic as it will only add to an already exacerbated set of challenging circumstances for our students, families, and staff.
I sincerely thank you for your continued patience, support, and understanding as we navigate this national situation. I have confidence in our administrators, teachers, staff, students, families, and community that we will keep our children’s best interests at the forefront of every decision we make.
Reminder, please check your email tomorrow, March 18, 2020, in the early afternoon, for information regarding TVUSD’s non-classroom educational learning opportunities for TK-12 students that will be offered following TVUSD’s regularly scheduled spring break.
