INTRODUCTION/INTRODUCCION
Hello Hearne Huskies!!!
Remember to come to school every day. Students must arrive at the appropriate time and bring all school supplies for proper instruction. The use of masks is not mandatory, however it is highly recommended. Remember to practice reading and math using iStation and iReady for 20 minutes each EVERY day and doing homework.

Recuerda que debe venir todos los días a la escuela. Todos los estudiantes deben traer todos sus útiles escolares completos para que su instrucción sea la adecuada. El uso de la máscara no es obligatorio, sin embargo es altamente recomendado. Recuerde practicar la lectura y matemáticas usando iStation y iReady por 20 minutos cada uno TODOS los días y hacer las tareas.
Learning Objectives:
Math: 2.1 Mathematical process standards. The student uses mathematical processes to acquire and demonstrate mathematical understanding. The student is expected to:
(A) apply mathematics to problems arising in everyday life, society, and the workplace
(B) use a problem-solving model that incorporates analyzing given information, formulating a plan or strategy, determining a solution, justifying the solution, and evaluating the problem-solving process and the reasonableness of the solution
(C) select tools, including real objects, manipulatives, paper and pencil, and technology as appropriate, and techniques, including mental math, estimation, and number sense as appropriate, to solve problems
(D) communicate mathematical ideas, reasoning, and their implications using multiple representations, including symbols, diagrams, graphs, and language as appropriate
(E) create and use representations to organize, record, and communicate mathematical ideas
(F) analyze mathematical relationships to connect and communicate mathematical ideas; and
(G) display, explain, and justify mathematical ideas and arguments using precise mathematical language in written or oral communication
Science: 2.10A Observe, record, and compare how the physical characteristics and behaviors of animals help them meet their basic needs.
Ciencias: Conexiones STEM y PBL ( Project Based Learning, por sus siglas en Inglés ). El equipo de Segundo Grado implementará actividades PBL y STEM para las restantes tres semanas del año escolar.
Social Studies: Review previous lessons.
Writing: Review previous lessons
Reading: Lectura: 2.6E . Hacer conexiones cpm ;las experiencias personales, los textos o la sociedad. 2.6H Sintetizar la información para comprender las ideas del autor.

Math: Homework Completion. Completar la hoja de tarea. Math Daily Review.
Science: The Thorny Devil PBL-Minor Science daily review-other
Social Studies: Work with a partner to create an organizer that lists (as much as possible) all of the topics you learned this year.
Writing: Review previous lessons
Reading: Review previous lessons
Lectura: Review previous lessons

Reminders from the grade level, school, or admin.:
The 2nd Grade Award Ceremony will be on Monday, May 23rd at 9:45am. The celebration will be in your child’s classroom. Please check with the homeroom teacher which room you need to go to.
Please check in early to avoid delays.
Last Day of School is on Thursday, May 26th. Dismissal will be at 2:00pm.
Library Books are due. Please have your child look for any library books in the house/backpack to avoid payments.
