Supporting Requirements for New Certification Offering through the Behavior Analytic Certification Board (BACB)
with Dr. Jodie Deming-Douglas and Katherine McBride
at the Southeastern Regional Education Service Center (SERESC)

Training sessions will begin promptly at 8:00 am and end at 4:00 pm. A light breakfast and afternoon snack is included.
Who Should Attend:
Designed for Paraprofessional level staff and Educators.
About the Workshop:
This exciting new national credential through the Behavior Analytic Certification Board will allow paraprofessionals to implement behavior analytic services under the supervision of a professional who possesses a BCBA, BCaBA, or FL-CBA.
This course covers basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to meet the coursework requirements of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s Registered Behavior Technician certification.

**This training program is based on the Registered Behavior Technician Task List and is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT credential. The program is offered independent of the BACB.

Outcomes:
Participants will demonstrate knowledge in the following areas from the RBT task list:
- Measurement
- Assessment
- Skill Acquisition
- Behavior Reduction
- Documentation and Reporting
- Professional Conduct and Scope of Practice
To become an RBT, the following are necessary:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent
- Complete 40 hours of training
- Complete a criminal background check
- Pass the RBT competency assessment
- Pass the RBT examination
About Dr. Jodie Deming-Douglas
Dr. Jodie Deming-Douglas joined the SERESC Clinical Services Department in October 2011 and has over 25 years of in-depth clinical experience providing behavior intervention services to children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. She received her doctoral degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she trained in the area of discrete trial methodology directly under Dr. Ivar Lovaas.
Dr. Deming-Douglas has extensive knowledge in home, school and community settings and in the design and implementation of Early Intensive Behavior Intervention programs for children with autism spectrum disorder. Additionally, she has a strong background in clinical supervision, training, assessment and providing direct behavior intervention and consultation. Dr. Deming-Douglas is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of California and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral.
About Katherine McBride, M.Ed. BCBA
Katherine McBride, M.Ed. BCBA, has been in the field of education for the past 15 years. She is an experienced educator, behavior analyst and school leader. Katherine offers the perspective of a classroom teacher, special educator, school principal as well as a behavior analyst. She earned her Masters in Education from Antioch New England Graduate School in 2005. She then went back to Antioch and went through the Applied Behavior Analysis Program and became a BCBA in January 2013.
Katherine has worked with a wide age of children and adolescents; however, she specializes in early childhood and elementary age children. She has been a special education preschool teacher and a 3rd and 4th grade classroom teacher. Currently, she provides ABA services to children with autism within home programming. In the role of administrator Katherine has lead special education departments and been an assistant principal as well as a principal of a PreK – 8 school.
