COVID-19 Updates
Ozark School District
Today Governor Mike Parson and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced that the state is making a change to quarantine guidelines for schools.
Students will no longer be quarantined due to an exposure at school when masks have been used.
This means that if both individuals at school – the person diagnosed with COVID-19 and the person exposed to the positive case – have masks on and are wearing them correctly, the individual exposed does not need to quarantine.
The graphic below will provide a visual explanation.
The key to this new guidance is when masks are used. We will continue our current quarantine process for students and staff anytime masks are not being worn (physical activity for example).
Students and staff currently on quarantine will be contacted by school officials. Please await contact from us before returning to school. Students and staff may only return if both parties were wearing a mask correctly at the time of exposure. Students and staff with symptoms, quarantine based on family, or positive cases will still remain on quarantine.
Here is the press release providing additional information from the state regarding these new guidelines.
