2021-2022 School Year is Winding Down!

Wow! It is hard to believe that this year is coming to an end! Much of this newsletter will be devoted to keeping everyone in the loop with the information needed to end the school year. Hold on!

First, the news from the USDA is that school meals will need to be paid for next year. Please visit the Nutrition Services page to fill out the online application. If you qualify this year you will have 30 days from the beginning of the school year grace next year to get your 2022-2023 application in. It is important that you apply for your family's benefit, and also, additional funding for the school may be provided depending on the percentage of students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. Please take a few moments to fill out the online application.

Kindergarten Round-up will be April 25 and 26. Please encourage anyone you know to find information online at the FNSBSD Enrollment page. They may then begin the registration process through the Online Registration Portal. Then take your enrollment form and the required documents listed below to your area school.

  • Required documents:
  • Birth Certificate A birth certificate is required for students entering kindergarten or first grade who haven't been enrolled in the district before.
  • Proof of Immunization
  • Transcripts or Report Cards
  • Proof of Current Physical Address
Utility bills such as phone, water or electric

Students must register at their home schools. To find school boundaries for next year go to the Transportation page or contact Mrs. Higdon at 907-372-3306 with your address.

This Tuesday Crawford's own Blair Shobe will be recognized at the FNSBSD School Board meeting for her winning Science Fair Logo design. Join us in the School Board room at the Administrative Center at 6:00 to celebrate Blair.

Take care and I will see you in the car line!

Fairbanks North Star Borough School District Earns National Accreditation

From our Assistant Superintendent, Luke Meinert:

"I wanted you all to know that the accreditation review team was very complimentary of our district. They stated we will score very well on their rating system and have a systems-wide accreditation status. This is a huge accomplishment for our district and it is because of the amazing work you all do day in and day out.

The district will receive a draft final report with details in approximately 10 days, a finalized report within 30 days, and plaques for our district sometime this summer.

Please take time to celebrate this accomplishment at your schools as this is an awesome achievement."
