Husky Howler
January 15, 2021
Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
We are looking forward to seeing our students live and in-person next week as we return to the hybrid model. We will be reverting back to the same schedule we used from September through December. Remember, there is no school Monday in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Day. On Tuesday, January 19th, Cohort B and C students will have an in-person day of school. Cohort A students will have an at-home day where they will log in to their teacher's Morning Meeting at 9:00 and work in their Google Classroom until it's time to log in again for their teacher's afternoon Meet.
Our COVID testing program is now scheduled to begin on Monday, January 25th. A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document is currently being developed and will be shared with the APS community once it's complete. We urge you to strongly consider opting into the testing program as the more participants we have, the more effective the program will be.
If you have any questions or concerns you can certainly wait for the FAQ document to come out or reach out to me at frich@attleboroschools.com. Regardless of the decision you make for your child(ren), we need you to login to Aspen and fill out the consent form. There is both a "yes" and "no" option. We recognize some people are waiting for more information about the testing program and to respect that, we will wait until the middle-to-end of next week to reach out to families who have not yet completed the consent process in Aspen. If you need help logging into Aspen, please reach out to Mrs. Lavoie: melavoie@attleboroschools.com

Finally, we will be continuing our Hill-Roberts' tradition of returning from break with a PJ/Comfy Day on Tuesday and Thursday.
Warm regards,
Mr. Rich, Principal
TRAVEL
We are aware that some families have used this remote period as an opportunity to travel out of state. For the safety of all of our students, families and staff, it is imperative that you adhere to the state's and Attleboro Public Schools' travel guidelines. You can click the buttons below to be taken to the full guidance but here is a summary:
All visitors entering Massachusetts, including returning residents, who do not meet an exemption, are required to:
- Complete the Massachusetts Travel Form prior to arrival unless they are visiting from a lower-risk state designated by the Department of Public Health.
AND EITHER
- Quarantine for 14 days -OR - Produce a negative test result no sooner than 72 hours after your return.
Please turn in any negative test results to your building’s School Nurse. While waiting for test results, your child must remain at home under quarantine and not return to school until a negative test can be produced or the 14-day quarantine has been completed
If you have traveled recently and have any questions or are unsure when your child is eligible to return to school (once we return to the hybrid model), please don't hesitate to reach out to our School Nurse, Mrs. Knight-Cloud.
This Week in Music
Hello Hill-Roberts Huskies and families,
This week and last week as we have been learning remotely, there are disadvantages and advantages.
In Music class, since the majority of students are at home, we can do something which we haven’t been able to do this school year, SING !!
K and 1st graders have been reintroduced to a song that was in our Google classroom lessons a few weeks ago; “Teddy Bear”.
2nd graders have been reintroduced to the song “Engine, Engine” and the rhythm patterns which we will play on our xylophones and metalophones when we get back to school.
3rd and 4th graders have had rhythm learning reinforced by using a rhythm packet that went home with students before December vacation. Please keep track of these packets, as we will be using them for some hands-on learning throughout the school year. We also have had Mrs. Giannetti demonstrate a new three-part partner song called “Bottle, Junk, Fish”.
If your student is in the following classes, they will switch from Music to another special next week: K-Bakalars and Kubel, 1st - Camelo and Landry, 2nd - Puccio, 3- Scott and Amancio and 4th- DeGrace and Leddy.
Keep in mind the students in the above classes will have weekly Google classroom assignments which are due each Friday.
The following classes will have Music class in school beginning on Tuesday, January 19th: K - DiLeo, 1st - Lindsay and Leddy, 2nd grade - Young and Laprade, 3 - Dalpe and 4th - Lombardy.
All Hill-Roberts students have the opportunity to attend live remote music sessions on Wednesdays at 9:30 - 10:00, 10:15 - 10:45, 11:00 - 11:30 and 11:45 - 12:15 at HRESmusic.
Any questions regarding Google classroom lessons or Wednesday sessions or anything, please contact me at cgiannetti@attleboroschools.com
